The Fox Foot

The Fox Foot is the author of this site’s content unless otherwise noted.  He has a B.A. in Religious Studies (with a Psych minor) and has completed four years of graduate work focusing largely on the Psychology of Religion.  Dreams have always been of interest to the Fox Foot as a source of creativity, inspiration, and even life-altering realizations.  He has met only a handful of people over the years who feel comfortable sharing dream experiences and who actually take them seriously.  Unfortunately, some of these people fall too easily for one-size-fits-all dream dictionary kinds of interpretations which suggest that anyone dreaming about teeth falling out is dreaming about insecurity, for example.  On the other side, he has been disappointed by some in the scientific community who feel that the study of the brain during sleep “explains away” any meaning and significance dreams have as just epiphenomena of a completely material process.

This site charts a middle course of sorts.  The Fox Foot is fascinated by science but still believes that any deeper or ultimate meaning in life and its experiences (such as dreams) will most likely come from other sources.

Lastly, the Fox Foot does not usually refer to himself by third-person internet names in real life, but since this is about unconscious life and he desires a touch of privacy for now, he will remain the Fox Foot on this site.  His current den is located in Goleta, California, not too far from his island fox kin on the Channel Islands.  He grew up in the rolling hills of West Virginia and went to college in a small town in Indiana.  He also prefers to take the train or to drive instead of flying, so chances are he’s probably rolled through your town at some point or another (if you live in the US, that is).
